Drive-in Boatwash™

Drive-In BoatWash™ machines are new and technologically innovative solutions for environmentally friendly hull cleaning. It is a technology from a Swedish manufacturer that continuously invests in the development and improvement of these machines.

This machine provides boat owners with the possibility of environmentally friendly mechanical cleaning of the hull using an automated system of rotating polymer brushes. These machines solve the problem of fouling of the hull of the vessel even without the use of any toxic antifouling coatings.

Drive-In BoatWash system saves boat owners both time and money, while generating additional revenue for marina owners. The positive impact of the system on the environment quickly gained recognition throughout Sweden.

Only the mechanical process and sea water are used to clean the hull of the boat – no chemical agents are used in the cleaning process.

BIGWASH models and specifications

BIGWASH is a hull cleaning machine that floats in the water and is fixed to the dockside. There are three sizes available for order

How it works
____

  1. A gate is lowered and the boat drives in between the beams.
  2. The gate is closed and the boat is moored.
  3. The cleaning is activated with a handheld remote control unit and the rotating brushes automatically align with the hull. The brushes move along the boat all the way to the stern and back, removing marine fouling. The brushes are designed to adjust to bulb keels of up to 45 cm in width.
  4. A boat 10 meters in length (30 foot) takes less than 20 minutes to clean

    Maximum boat size

    ____

    • Length: 16 meters (53 feet)
    • Width: 5 meters (16.5 feet)
    • Draft: 2.4 meters (8 feet)

    Space required for installation

    ____

The frame is attached to the pier either longitudinally (as in the picture) or along its shorter side to take up less space. Download the BIGWASH info sheet for more details.

    • Length: 18.5 meters (61 feet)
    • Width: 8.5 meters (28 feet)
    • Depth: 3.2 meters (10.5 feet)

    Framework
    ____
Floating U-shaped dock made of high quality (marine grade) aluminum.

    Brush unit
    ____

In the middle of the frame is a cleaning unit. It consists of 8-10 rotating brushes made of non-abrasive durable high-density polymer.

    Hydraulics
    ____

All BIGWASH machines are powered by hydraulic motors. They are connected to three-phase current (400 V) and consume approximately 1 kWh after cleaning the vessel (15 minutes).

    Container for collecting dirt
    ____

Below the entire length of the machine is a basin for collecting dirt. All removed fouling is collected at the bottom of the basin, and are periodically disposed of ecologically: On the front of the tank there is a hydraulic door that opens and closes after the passage of the boat.

    Remote control
    ____

The BIGWASH is controlled by a remote control connected to the machine via wi-fi network. With it, it is possible to open / close the hydraulic door, move the brush unit along the hull (from the bow to the stern and back), and choose the direction of rotation of the brush – which allows the optimal cleaning effect.

    Drive-In Boatwash:

    • Effectively and safely removes all contamination from the hullImproves fuel efficiency (lower resistance = higher speed / reduced  consumption)
    • Provides fast and timely cleaning service
    • It provides excellent boat performance throughout the year
    • Reduces the total time spent on boat maintenance
    • Eliminates the need to use toxic anti-fouling paint
    • Contributes to a cleaner environment
