Can my boat be washed?

BIGWASH 16 machines clean the vast majority of motor boats and sailboats up to 16 meters long, up to 5 meters wide and draft up to 2.4 meters, with a few exceptions.

See the exact specifications and see if we can clean the hull of your boat!

My boat is completely dirty - can you clean it?

Although our recommendation is to do the cleaning regularly, we clean even completely overgrown boats.

The result of the cleaning will depend on the accumulations on the hull and the type of the boat itself.

Mechanical brushes will also remove the vast majority of the most stubborn shells, but don’t expect a 100% clean hull of your boat.

In any case, the vast majority of fouling will be completely removed from the hull, which will significantly improve performance and reduce fuel consumption!

And what about the part that brushes can't reach (stern, engine / propeller…) ?!

We clean that too! There is a very strong high-pressure pump on the machine to which a long jet pipe is connected to access hard-to-reach parts of the vessel.

We also offer propeller cleaning with a cavitation gun!

My boat has an antifouling coating - can I use Drive-In Boatwash?

YES!

The results and frequency of cleaning depend on the specific type of coating (there is a very wide range of products of this type on the market), but the harder the coating – the more suitable it is for mechanical cleaning with brushes.

My boat has an antifouling coating - does it make sense to use a Drive-In Boatwash?

Of course it make sense!

It is often the case that boat owners, after 2-3 months of removing the boat and applying antifouling coating, experience the decline in boat performance or increase in fuel consumption (especially with increasing sea temperature in the summer).

Already the first mucus on the boat hull increases the resistance up to 2%, grass up to 10%, and larger fouling up to 40%.

All this also affects fuel consumption, surveys conducted among users of Drive-In Boatwash machines around the world (Scandinavia, USA) showed that, with improved performance, fuel consumption was reduced between 10 and 40%.

Plus, the next time you lift the boat you’ll have a lot less work to do, there won’t be any stubborn clumps to take off!

How often should you clean the hull of your vessel?

To achieve the best results, we recommend regular cleaning.

The boat should be cleaned as soon as you notice the first fouling of the hull.

This will stop the fouling at the very beginning and prevent further accumulation of marine organisms.

Regular cleaning will ensure that the boat is constantly clean.

The speed of fouling of a boat depends on a number of different factors – in general, if you want your boat to be constantly clean, ie to always have excellent performance with the lowest fuel consumption – on average it should be cleaned every 4-12 weeks.

Why should I clean my boat 6 (and more) times a year, when so far I have only dealt with this issue once a year !?

If you want your hull to be constantly clean (which saves between 10 and 40% on fuel per year, with constant excellent boat performance), once a year is simply not enough – remember the condition of your hull after you take it out.

In the case of regular cleaning, the work after lifting the vessel will be much smaller, there will be no stubborn accumulations for scraping.

Who will use "UNLIMITED" washing subscription for, why would anyone need so much washing a year ?!

This type of annual subscription is intended for vessels that do not use antifouling protection at all (but only a hard coating that protects them from osmosis), and are located in an area that is very susceptible to fouling and / or boats that are important to be constantly in top shape ( eg raicing sailboats).

Why would I even use Drive-In Boatwash !?

In case:

  • you are completely satisfied with the boatl’s performance / fuel consumption throughout the year
  • you have the opinion that the cost of maintaining your boat hull is not too high
  • your engagement in hull maintenance is not difficult at all

DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING!

Otherwise – try Drive-In Boatwash and decide for yourself what works best for you.

I'm interested in the financial side of this whole story ... how much will it all cost me?

Anyway less than before! Add up all your current costs and consider the benefits of this new maintenance method.

MARINA / ENTREPRENEUR QUESTIONS

What are the prices of Rentunder AB washing machines?

Prices of machines range from approx. 65,000.00 EUR (mobile cleaner), up to approx. 385,000.00 EUR (BIGWASH 16 with all accessories).

These are only approximate prices and are subject to change, depending on the customer’s wishes.

What is the delivery time of the washing machine?

Delivery time is 6 months.

Is service / spare parts / maintenance of machines provided in the territory of the Republic of Croatia?

Yes, Clean Blue d.o.o. is not only the exclusive distributor of these machines for the territory of the Republic of Croatia, but is also authorized for their maintenance / servicing.

Do you know what all I need to run Drive-In Boatwash business? (Legislation, bureaucracy - certificates, permits, concessions…)

We know very well because we went through the whole process ourselves.

We will be happy to help you with the documentation and explain everything that is not clear to you.

Will this service reduce my marina’s earnings?

No, on the contrary – around the world it has been shown that this service significantly increases the earnings of the marina itself.

It is normal for boat owners to expect their boat to be in the best condition during the period when they use it the most, in the summer months.

For this reason, there is a great rush to maintain the hull of the vessel exclusively for a period from march to june.

Often marinas have a problem with unrealized profits in those months because the demand is greater than the possibilities (too many in a short time  period).

Drive-In Boatwash regular maintenance of the boat hull of  allows these jobs to be done throughout the year, thus there is no system overload or unrealized profit.

In addition, significant earnings are made due to boats from nearby ports, boats in transit, charter boats … ie boats that have not otherwise used the maintenance services of the hull from your marina – the possibility of higher earnings from all the accompanying work.

In my marina, the boat owners are mostly foreigners who are not there all year round. Drive-In Boatwash wouldn’t be used enough anyway?

We think you’re wrong.

Foreigners are on average much more sensitive to environmental issues, most often the main reason for accepting the Drive-In Boatwash system is precisely the preservation of the environment.

Therefore, it will not be a problem for them to accept a boat maintenance contract throughout the year using the Drive-In Boatwash system and when they are not present, in the same way as they accept a boats removal and maintenance contract.

Why would I put this machine in my marina?

Here are some of the reasons:

  • Marina modernization: providing a new service to its customers / attracting new customers
  • Compliance with future (announced and increasingly rigorous) changes in environmental regulations related to antifouling toxic coatings
  • Strong earning potential – breaking down myths / fears of reducing revenue by stopping using antifouling coatings
  • In step with the times – readiness for change (foils, long-lasting coatings ()
  • Increasing traffic in the marina (boats from nearby ports, boats in transit, charter boats …) – the possibility of higher earnings from ancillary jobs
  • Proven business model with a short return on investment
  • Ecological reasons = less pollution / cleaner marina environment

What is the environmental impact of Drive-In Boatwash?
What are the advantages / disadvantages of hull maintenance using a Drive-In Boatwash machine?

Advantages of replacing the classic protection of theboat hull with toxic antifouling coatings with a new program of regular hull cleaning without toxic coating (eg epoxy resin coatings):

  • Better boat performance with significant fuel savings (the hull is always clean!)
  • The hull of the boat does not need to be painted every year, but, on average, every 5-7 years (significant financial savings – the price of cranes, the price of materials / labor ..)
  • No service queues
  • Simple and fast service, no need to do the work yourself
  • Contribution to environmental protection

In case you still plan to use antifouling coatings, with occasional use of Drive-In Boatwash:

  • Better boat performance with significant fuel savings (the hull is always clean!)
  • Much less work on the next removal of the boat (there will be no stubborn fouling on the hull ..)

Disadvantages… none?

..if we have to say something:, from time to time you will have to get to our BIGWASH 16 machine and wait for about 15 minutes for us to clean your boat.
